Verlaine Quinniey, Founder & CEO

Verlaine Quinniey earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Hampton University and her Master of Public Administration from Old Dominion University. She is a single mother who has gained experience in the public sector, nonprofit, and private sector. She has served on several nonprofit boards and committees over the last 8 years including the YWCA, United Way Project Inclusion Alumni Association, and the Urban League of Hampton Roads Young Professionals. 

She is the Founder & CEO of The Connect 757, The Social Network for Black Professional. In just over 3 years, she has been able to develop a membership-based network that allows Young Professionals to grow personally and professionally, while having fun and stepping outside of their comfort zones throughout the 757. In addition to the monthly social networking events throughout the year, The Connect 757 hosts an Outdoor Adventure Series, Melanin Brunch, 5am Challenge, Melanin Reads Monthly Book Club, and the newest series, Dynamic Dialogues. 

In 2021, The Connect 757 launched the first Hampton Roads Black Talent Directory that will be the hub for connecting employers and black professionals in Hampton Roads. Verlaine was chosen as one of the top 20 Women in Business from Inside Business. Read the full article HERE.

Verlaine values collaboration and works closely with businesses and organizations when developing new events. She is passionate about giving back, guiding others to reach their goals and their full potential, and most importantly ensuring members are enjoying the process along the way.
